Common Questions
What is a Flow? What does Sparking mean?
Posts on Ascended Social are called Flows. When you share something — a photo, a reflection, a thought, or a video — you're posting a Flow. Sparking is how you vote on a Flow you find meaningful. It's a positive-impact signal, not just a like. When you Spark a Flow, you're saying: this created real value for me. Flows that earn more Sparks build a stronger Positive Impact score, which helps them rise higher in the Sacred Feed over time.
What are the five ways to discover content?
Ascended Social has five primary discovery paths. The Sacred Feed is your home base for Flows and can run in Human Community mode or AI-assisted mode. Discovery is the personalized recommendation surface and can use either mode as well. The Oracle is separate from both: it randomly draws existing Flows, Elements, and Scrolls without ranking or popularity bias. Pendulums is public, non-personalized browsing with transparent human-signal ranking. Search helps you find published content by topic, mood, intention, or keywords. Flow tags add an explicit filter across relevant discovery surfaces.
Is Ascended Social a mental wellness app?
No. Ascended Social is a spiritual social community — a social network, not a wellness or clinical mental-health product. Rather than optimizing for outrage or compulsive engagement, the platform gives people multiple ways to discover content: Human Community or AI-assisted Feed and Discovery, random Oracle draws, public Pendulums browsing, and targeted Search with mood, intention, keyword, and Flow-tag filters. Ascended is not clinical mental health care and is not a substitute for licensed care.
What is Ascended Social?
Social, with soul. Less noise, more meaning. Ascended Social is a spiritual social community for publishing reflections, exploring prompt-based discovery, watching Elements, going live with Moments, and building identity through Avatars and sigils.
How do Avatars and sigils work?
You can generate and evolve your Avatar in Avatar Studio and the Cosmos, and create your personal sigil in Sigil Hub. Both are reflected on your profile identity. When you bring your Avatar into an As Above So Below (AASB) game session, it becomes your Tulpa for that story.
How does AI work in the app?
AI supports search, recommendations, publishing safeguards, and some moderation checks across posts, Elements, Moments, and scrolls. Hosted-platform content, including private messages with hosted users, is subject to moderation using AI and/or human review depending on the content, settings, and safety context. Human review may follow reports, escalations, and appeals; not every item receives individual human review. In Settings, users can choose an AI execution mode (`auto`, `prefer_local`, `prefer_cloud`, `local_only`). Moderation obligations remain in effect in every mode.
Can I upload my own open-source AI model?
Yes. You can upload open-source AI models for private workflows, and uploaded packages must pass platform safety review before activation. Model access is private by default.
What are Aether Guides in Networks?
Aether Guides are AI agents for Ascended Social and are currently in Preview for paid subscribers (Mystic and Ascended). They help moderators draft channel messages, automations, and other network tasks. Aether Guides cannot publish directly: every Aether Guide action is reviewed and approved by a human moderator before execution, and executed content remains clearly labeled for transparency.
What are intentions?
When you create a post, Element, Moment, scroll, or comment, you write the mood and intention yourself. AI never writes or changes that text. In AI-assisted mode only, an advisory honesty check can review public posts for rule violations and whether the intention fits the content. Human Community mode has no AI check. Intentions can inform ranking and community safety reviews.
How do Moments work?
Moments are live streams on Ascended Social. Go live in portrait from your phone or landscape from desktop, with timed session limits based on your plan. Live chat and reactions are preserved, and Cloudflare-backed replays are archived in the Elemental Library as Elements — keeping the live-chat history separate.
How do privacy and cookie controls work?
The Privacy Center lets you review TermsHub-hosted policies, open TermsHub cookie settings, submit do-not-sell/share requests, and track privacy requests tied to our compliance workflows.
Can I control Avatar visibility?
Yes. Avatar visibility can be set to signed-in public, followers-only, or private so you decide how your identity is shared.
Does Ascended Social have a free plan?
Yes. You can use Ascended Social on the free Seeker plan, browse the Cosmos Tools preview, and read the guide. Upgrade to Mystic or Ascended for live access to all fourteen Cosmos Tools domains, up to 40 tool runs per day, and private saved results. Mystic adds larger file upload limits and premium creator tooling, while Ascended provides the highest storage quotas and file size limits.
What is Astronomaly?
Astronomaly is a map-based explorer for discovering meaningful locations and community anchor points around you. It offers three guided discovery modes: Aura (activity mapping), Portal (landmark hubs), and Harmonic (time-based exploration signals). You can explore your local area or distant regions and share experiences with the community. ⚠️ Important: Do not trespass on private, military, or residential property. Users are responsible for verifying property ownership and access rights. Third Eye Cyborg, LLC assumes no liability for arrests or legal consequences.
What are Cosmos Tools, and how do I begin?
Cosmos Tools are fourteen Roxy-powered domains inside The Cosmos: astrology, forecasts, Human Design, Chinese Astrology, Feng Shui, numerology, Tarot, biorhythm, I Ching, crystals, dreams, angel numbers, and place/timezone lookup. On mobile, More lists Cosmos Tools at the top (locked until Mystic or Ascended). You can also open Cosmos Tools in the HUD and choose a domain, or ask Cosmos in natural language; matching requests return the relevant Roxy result inline in your private conversation. Voice input, Speak playback, opt-in saving, and history reopening are available where supported. If you turn off Use AI Features, charts and other Cosmos calculations still work; Ask Cosmos, combined Tarot readings, and voice stay off. Copy or Share writes a reading you can paste into Flow as a visual card, or into any other app as text — birth inputs stay off the shared card. Inputs are sent to Ascended Social's server for the selected calculation; history is opt-in and can be deleted. Read the public preview and guide before you begin.
What are Events on Ascended Social?
Events are scheduled gatherings on Ascended Social. You can host a single Ceremony, a recurring Ritual, or a private Seance — link a network, invite aligned souls, RSVP, and share repostable event cards in the Sacred Feed. When an event goes live, the room opens with chat, voice, and video.
Is Ascended Social federated or open source?
Not today. Federation (connecting with other servers) is planned as a future second wave, has no launch date, and is not available — you can't join or follow Ascended Social from another server. Ascended Core (github.com/third-eye-cyborg/ascended-core) is our open-source foundation, released under the Apache License 2.0; self-hosters run Ascended Core Node. The hosted Ascended Social service, apps and website are proprietary and not open source.

Being built on Ascended Core
Ascended Social is being built on Ascended Core, our open-source foundation for privacy-conscious community experiences. Ascended Core is released under the Apache License 2.0 and is the part we maintain and polish first; self-hosters run Ascended Core Node. The hosted Ascended Social service, apps and website are not open source. You can explore the Core code and run a Core node on your own infrastructure. Federation is planned, but it has no launch date and isn't available today, and plans can change. When federation launches, public content delivered to Ascended Social and private communication with Ascended Social-hosted users would remain subject to our rules and moderation; private exchanges solely among users of independent self-hosted services that never pass through Ascended Social may be outside our moderation, and those operators and users would be responsible for their own rules and legal compliance.
