Ascended Social is a large platform — there is a lot here, and you do not need to use all of it at once. This guide walks through what each part of the app does, how to get started, and how to stay in control of your privacy and safety along the way. Take it one step at a time.

A look inside the app
This short video shows Whispers, Networks, Moments, and the Cosmos in action. It adapts to your screen — portrait on mobile, landscape on desktop. Audio is muted by default; tap the controls to play or turn sound on.
The main parts of the platform
Each card below shows an interactive preview of a different part of the app — from the feed and the Oracle card draw, to live sessions, the 3D community map, and your personal sigil. You do not have to explore all of these on day one.
Sacred Feed
Your main home screen. Post reflections, photos, and updates in a shared feed where content that genuinely uplifts rises higher over time. Spark posts you connect with, leave comments, bookmark things to return to, and follow people whose work resonates with you. You can schedule a Flow from the composer. Delete removes a scheduled Flow and its media right away. Cancelled or failed scheduled Flows are deleted after 7 days. Once a scheduled Flow publishes, we delete the scheduled copy's content; the published post stays until you delete it.
The Oracle
A randomized discovery ritual for reflection. Pull a single card or lay out a three-card spread, then follow the chance-surfaced Flow, Element, or Scroll into a deeper exploration — an intentional alternative to endlessly scrolling. It is not an AI recommendation system, fortune-teller, or source of professional advice.
Elemental Library
Video teachings on Ascended Social are called Elements — each tagged with one of five energies (Fire, Earth, Air, Water, or Aether, representing unity including spirituality) so you can browse by the energy you want to explore. Watch, discuss with others, and bookmark anything you want to return to.
Live Moments
Go live from your phone in portrait or from desktop in landscape. Viewers react and comment in real time. When you're done, the session can be saved as a replayable video in the library — with the live chat preserved separately so the conversation isn't lost.
As Above So Below
As Above So Below — a cooperative spiritual role-playing game you play with others. Your group joins a session, draws item cards, rolls crystal dice, and shapes an ongoing story together, guided by an AI storyteller that responds to your choices and energy.
Sacred Scrolls
A writing space for long-form reflections, essays, and explorations. Write in drafts, publish when you're ready, organize your work into chapters, and let readers discuss it with you. Your personal library grows over time.
The Cosmos
A living 3D map of the community. Switch between Universe view (the whole network), Solar System (clusters of connected people), Avatar mode (your identity in space), Egregors mode (shared group energies), and Astronomaly (real-world locations). Open Cosmos Tools to explore fourteen private reflection domains, or ask Cosmos in natural language and receive the relevant tool result in the conversation. Turning off Use AI Features keeps the fourteen domains available and hides Ask Cosmos, combined Tarot readings, and voice.
Astronomaly
A map-based explorer for discovering meaningful places and community gathering points near you. Three guided modes let you see the world differently: Aura (activity mapping), Portal (landmark hubs), and Harmonic (time-based signals). Always verify access rights before visiting any location.
Sigil Hub
Your personal symbol on the platform. Generate a sigil with AI, or upload your own image. You can upload your own sigil image if you own it or have the right to use it. Uploaded sigils are held for review before anyone else can see them. In Human Community mode, a person reviews them and they're never sent to AI providers. In AI-assisted mode, they're checked by the same automated image tools we use for post images (OpenAI's moderation API and Cloudflare) before review. Copyright complaints about uploaded sigils use our DMCA Policy and in-app copyright reporting. Uploads stay pending review. Only you can see this until it's approved. Approved uploaded sigils can be traded, one sigil for one sigil. Energy can't be used to buy another member's sigil, and a sigil's frequency moves with it in a trade.
Akashic Engine
The system that decides what your feed shows you — and you can shape it. In Human mode, content is ranked purely by community engagement. In AI mode, the community collectively writes the positivity principles that guide what gets recommended. You vote on those principles, not just the posts.
Aether Guides (AI Assistants)
AI helpers for community spaces — currently in Preview for Mystic and Ascended subscribers. Aether Guides can draft messages, automations, and tasks for network moderators, but they cannot post anything on their own. Every Aether Guide action must be reviewed and approved by a human moderator before it happens, and anything they produce is clearly labeled.
Events
Scheduled gatherings on Ascended Social. Host a one-time event (Ceremony), a recurring gathering (Ritual), or a private invite-only session (Seance). Connect it to a Network, let people RSVP, share a repostable event card in the feed, and open the room with live chat, voice, and video when it's time.
Private messages, community spaces, and calls
Whispers are private messages to one person or a small group. Networks are community spaces with channels for different conversations. Calls work from both — pick up from a Whisper thread or drop into a voice lounge inside a Network.
Whispers (Direct Messages)
Private messaging for one person or a small group — with real-time delivery, typing indicators, and presence so you always know who's around. Start a voice or video call directly from the thread when text isn't enough.
Networks & Channels
Create or join community spaces organized into channels for chat, announcements, shared projects, and drop-in voice/video lounges. Search across the network to find what matters quickly.
Voice & Video Calls
Start a call from a Whisper thread or join a channel lounge with your community. Works for intimate check-ins, study circles, and larger group sessions — with screen sharing when it helps explain something.
Videos & Live Sessions
Watch on-demand videos (Elements), go live with a Moments session, and keep the conversation moving with reactions and chat. When a live session ends, it can be saved as a replayable video in the library.
Run shared projects inside a Network
If your community is working on something together — an event, a course, a creative project — Networks let you add a Projects channel so planning lives in the same place as your conversations, calls, and announcements.
Add a Projects channel to any Network
Inside any Network you manage, choose the Projects channel type to open a shared kanban board where your group can organize active work.
Track everything in one place
Move cards through columns (like To Do, In Progress, Done), assign ownership, set due dates, and keep project progress visible to everyone in the network.
Coordinate with chat, calls, and events
Your project board lives inside the same Network as your chat channels, voice/video lounges, announcements, and event planning — no need to jump between separate tools.
Clock time on cards
Members who can manage cards clock in and out on a card. Owners and permitted admins open Timesheets to create, edit, or delete entries so the network can track contributed time accurately.
You decide where AI features run
In Settings under AI & Privacy, you can control whether AI-assisted features use your device, the cloud, or a mix of both. On compatible Apple devices, the local option can use on-device AI without sending data to a cloud provider.
Auto
The default setting. The app balances on-device and cloud processing automatically based on what your device supports, what the feature needs, and platform policy.
Prefer Local
Tries to run AI features on your device first — including Apple's on-device AI where available — and only falls back to cloud when your device doesn't support a particular feature.
Prefer Cloud
Uses cloud AI by default for the most consistent and capable experience across all devices and features.
Local Only
Keeps AI generation prompts off cloud providers for supported flows. Some features may not be available on devices without local AI support. Platform safety checks can still use configured vendors.
Moderation stays active in every mode — including Local Only. Your choice of AI routing never disables content safety, platform policy, or legal compliance systems.
Your presence on the platform — seven states
Every person on Ascended Social has a live presence tag that shows what they are doing right now. It updates automatically based on your activity, or you can set it manually. These seven states let the people in your circles know whether you are available, in quiet focus, creating, in a call, or stepping away.
You are offline. Notifications are held and no presence signal is shown to others — the platform respects when you step away.
You are online but in quiet focus mode. Incoming calls from Whispers and network pings are silenced while your presence dot stays visible — a do-not-disturb signal for deep work.
You are in the app and present, but not in any specific activity — browsing, exploring, or just open to what comes.
You are actively taking something in: watching a video, reading a scroll, drawing Oracle cards, or moving through a guided session.
You are creating or broadcasting — writing a post, publishing a scroll, or going live. This state shows others you are in active expression.
You are in an active call — a private Whisper call or a voice/video lounge inside a Network. This state shows real-time presence to the people you are with.
You are in a focused practice session: breathwork, guided meditation, or an AASB ceremony. An intentional signal that you are inward and not to be interrupted.
How to find your way in
There is a lot here, but you do not need to figure it all out at once. Most people start with the feed, then find one other part of the app that interests them and explore from there. Here is a simple path if you want one.
1. Sign in and set up your profile
Complete onboarding, pick your display name, and start shaping your profile with an avatar, a sigil (your personal symbol), and a bio. This is what other people see when they find your work — you can keep it simple at first and add more as you go.
2. Start in the feed and find people worth following
Most first sessions begin in the Sacred Feed: read posts, open image threads, leave comments, spark things you connect with, and bookmark anything you want to return to. Follow people whose posts feel right.
3. Try Oracle, Elements, Scrolls, Live sessions, and AASB one at a time
The Oracle uses a tarot-style random draw to surface a reflection prompt and a piece of content from across the platform — a different way to discover without popularity ranking. Elements is the video library. Live Moments lets you stream or watch others. Sacred Scrolls is for deeper reading and writing. As Above So Below (AASB) is a cooperative game you play with others. You don't need to use all of these at once — start with one that sounds interesting.
4. Explore your Sigil Hub and the Cosmos
The Sigil Hub lets you generate a personal symbol that marks everything you create on the platform. The Cosmos is a 3D visual map of the community you can browse and navigate. Both are optional — explore them when you're ready.
5. Use search and recommendations to go deeper
Search helps you find posts, videos, scrolls, and chapters by topic or mood — not just keywords. The app is designed to open the exact item you are looking for rather than dropping you into a general section.
6. Manage your privacy and reporting settings
Use in-product reporting buttons across posts, videos, chats, and live sessions to flag content that crosses a line. Visit your privacy settings to control who can see your profile, manage consent choices, and submit data requests.
Things you can do in the app
Tools you actually control, built into the product
Safety, privacy, and reporting tools are part of the product itself — not something you access through a support form. You can report content, adjust your visibility, manage privacy choices, and control AI routing all from within the app.
In Settings under AI & Privacy, you can choose how AI-assisted features run — on your device, in the cloud, or both. Moderation stays active regardless of which mode you choose.
Search and recommendations
Built-in search and recommendations help you find posts, scrolls, and videos from published community content — by topic, mood, or intention, not just exact keywords.
Report any content, anywhere
Every post, video, scroll, and live session has a report button built into it. Tapping it sends the content to the moderation queue for review — you are never left to deal with a problem on your own.
Safety tools, not just rules
Moderation, privacy rights, and policy controls are part of the product experience — not buried in a support form. You can act on them directly from inside the app.
AI assistants need human sign-off
Aether Guides (the AI helpers for Networks) can only draft proposals. A human moderator must review and approve every single action before anything is posted or changed. Their output is always clearly labeled.
Control who sees your profile
Your profile visibility can be set to public (for signed-in users), followers-only, or private. These settings also control how others can find and engage with your identity on the platform.
Opt in to analytics and personalization
Analytics, marketing, and personalization features are optional — you choose them through clear consent banners and can revisit your choices any time in the Privacy Center.
What each part of the app is for — and where the lines are
AASB (Cooperative Game)
Group spiritual role-playing sessions and party coordination.
Boundaries: Keep play consensual — no coercive roleplay, targeting other players, or abusive behavior in voice sessions.
Whispers (Direct Messages)
Private one-on-one or small-group conversations and calls.
Boundaries: Private threads still follow platform rules — no harassment, threats, or non-consensual content.
Networks + Channels
Community spaces for chat, voice/video lounges, announcements, and project coordination.
Boundaries: No hate speech, intimidation, pressure tactics, or content designed to incite harm.
Moments + Live Calls
Live video sessions, teachings, and real-time community events.
Boundaries: No harmful live content. Recording or resharing a session requires participant consent.
Cosmos + Astronomaly
Visual community exploration and real-world location discovery.
Boundaries: No stalking, doxxing, or sharing private location information about others. Always verify access rights before visiting a location.
Discovery + Akashic Engine
Feed recommendations and community-written ranking principles.
Boundaries: No false claims about how ranking works, no pressure tactics around governance voting.
Profile + Visibility Settings
Your identity, discoverability, and privacy boundary settings.
Boundaries: Respect other people's visibility settings — do not attempt to bypass or expose what someone has set as private.
Start whenever you're ready
A good first session is simple: open the feed, follow a few people, and see what feels interesting. When you're ready to go deeper, try Oracle once, search for a topic you care about, then explore Elements, Sacred Scrolls, or As Above So Below — depending on whether you want video, long-form writing, or something to play with others. There is no rush and no right order.
