Minor-Safety Addendum

Effective May 24, 2026Third Eye Cyborg, LLCLast updated September 1, 2026

Supplements our standard policies for users in jurisdictions with specific minor-safety statutes including Texas SCOPE Act, Florida HB 3, New York SAFE for Kids Act, Utah Social Media Regulation Act, and the UK / Ireland Online Safety / Children's Codes.
On this page
  • 1. Account-holder age
  • 2. Default protections for known minors
  • 3. Texas SCOPE Act / Florida HB 3 / Utah
  • 4. New York SAFE for Kids Act
  • 5. UK Children's Code / Ireland Fundamentals
  • 6. Reporting and harm escalation

1. Account-holder age#

The minimum age to create or use an Ascended Social account is 18 years, consistent with our Terms of Service, Mobile EULA, and Desktop EULA. This addendum describes additional protections that apply if we ever learn that an account belongs to someone under 18 (for example, a misrepresented signup), and are provided as safeguards if an account is discovered to belong to a minor; this page does not represent independent age verification or claim that every listed control is automatically applied.

2. Default protections for known minors#

  • Accounts of users we learn are minors are private by default.
  • Direct messages from non-connections are off by default.
  • Personalised behavioural advertising is off (we do not run third-party behavioural advertising at all on the Service).
  • Sensitive content categories are filtered more conservatively.
  • Push notifications are reduced during overnight hours where this can be inferred from device locale.

3. Texas SCOPE Act / Florida HB 3 / Utah#

For users in Texas, Florida, and Utah, we provide additional parent / guardian controls and disclosures as required, including the ability for a parent or guardian to request deletion of a known minor's account and to limit certain features. We take reasonable steps to confirm the requester's relationship to the account before acting on the request. Contact [email protected] to begin a request.

4. New York SAFE for Kids Act#

For known minors in New York, "addictive feeds" (algorithmically ranked recommendations) and overnight push notifications are disabled by default and are only enabled with verifiable parental consent.

5. UK Children's Code / Ireland Fundamentals#

For known minors in the UK and Ireland, we apply data-minimisation defaults consistent with the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code and the DPC's Fundamentals for a Child-Oriented Approach to Data Processing, including disabling geolocation by default and providing age-appropriate explanations of data use.

6. Reporting and harm escalation#

See the Child Safety statement for how to report content that endangers a minor. We do not claim a CyberTipline filing, automated CSAM detection or hash matching, automated screening for every report, or an active evidence-preservation workflow until the responsible operator has confirmed each process.
